Indian Rocks Beach (IRB) is on a 20 mile long barrier island conveniently located about 25 miles from the Tampa airport and 17 miles from the Clearwater/St. Pete airport.
“Old Florida” is the term used to describe a slow paced, no high rise, community approach to natural resources. Our 8 unit building is a fine example of 50’s FL, that retains it convenience and charm along with comfortable up dates.
Walk out the door onto the beach. You will not have to deal with elevators and parking garages. You may meet your neighbors and maybe make new friends or enjoy the solitude of a private spot. Indian Rocks Beach is small town America. There is a museum, park and gazebo. You can walk between the intercoastal and the coast.

The "Shack on the Sand" is clean, comfy and uncommon
This Indian Rocks Beach vacation rental condo is truly a "by owner" rental. It has been tenderly loved and cared for since 1992. Ann named the “Shack on the Sand in 1996 when she began weekly rentals.
The rates vary greatly from season to season. Returning guests receive a $50 discount from May to January. This is the kind of place that welcomes returning guests like family. The joke is if what you want isn’t in the unit you don’t need it. Ann, the owner lives 6 minutes away and you may call her to find something or ask her to bring it over. The TV’s are mounted on the walls and Prime is available. There is a nice selection of CD’s and a small player/radio.
She wanted people to know that it was not a high rise and was very close to nature. Happily many people are looking for the direct beach front “Old Florida” experience. The Indian Rocks museum is about 2 blocks away. It is a beach cottage which has been moved and enlarged. There, you will find a post card about Port Holiday, which was the original name of our building. The museum is open from 10 to 2 on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
If for some reason I have to cancel, you may reschedule or receive a refund. Examples could be a local emergency or pandemic.
If you cancel you will receive a refund if your reserved time can be rented. I will send e-mails for 6 months back or you may find someone to replace you. Other than that we share the risk.
